Hi,
WatchOS is the operating system of the Apple Watch, developed by Apple Inc. It is based on iOS, the operating system used by the iPhone and iPod Touch, and has many similar features. 7 It was released on April 24, 2015, along with the Apple Watch, the only device that runs watchOS. WatchOS exposes an API called WatchKit for developer use.
- If you’ve upgraded your Mac to macOS Catalina, you might have noticed that the iTunes app is missing. Instead, it’s been replaced by three different apps – Music, Apple Podcasts and Apple TV. What this means is that there’s no dedicated app to sync your iOS device to your Mac, which used to be the greatest features of iTunes.
- To sync specific podcasts, follow these steps: Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. Tap My Watch, then tap Podcasts. Tap Custom, then turn on the stations and shows you want to sync to your Apple Watch. Your Apple Watch will try to sync three episodes from every show you select.
The iMessages should sync if the devices are both On.
This is irrespective if one is connected to the Carrier and the other to a WiFi or Ethernet to a Network.
Text Forwarding/SMS to Mac requires that the iPhone and the Mac are on the same LAN.
This tends to mean the iPhone has to join the Hotel network as well as the Mac.
The iMessages should still arrive on the Mac even if the iPhone number is deselected as the sync to the Apple ID should cover it.
I have not seen anyone post about using an iPhone as it's own Hotspot for this which might effect the data rate the Mac is getting and it then may not get them.
If...

The iPhone > Settings > Send and Receive has the Number unticked (it happens sometimes) then the number will eventually de-register from the iMessages server.
This will then unlink from the Apple ID. Strangely it seems the iPhone works the Apple ID as an alternative rather that a sync which means it gets the iMessages but the sync is actually broken so the Mac gets nothing.
If you are getting new iMessages on the Mac then there is no way to 'recover' the missing iMessages.

- Once the download has completed, the installation wizard should start automatically. Follow the instructions when prompted. Only advanced users should change any of the options from the defaults selected by the wizard
- Once you have clicked Done, the installation process is completed. You will now have an icon labelled thinkorswim that displays the thinkorswim logo on your desktop. If this is visible, the installation was completed successfully.

Note: You do not need to install any other software. A Java virtual machine is included with this download. If you are updating your 32-bit installation to 64-bit, the installer will automatically detect your old installation and retain your existing settings. No manual intervention is required.
